Full disclosure: my mom made these delicious little buggers. I just hovered behind her with my camera, snapping pictures and sneaking tastes.
They’re like bite-size slices of apple pie. I recommend serving ‘em a la mode with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I bet these would make a great dinner party dessert; you could prepare them ahead of time, and just pop them in the oven as guests finish dinner. They’re definitely best when warm.

- Two medium-sized, fresh McIntosh apples, peeled, cored, and minced
- 1 Tbs. packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 24 wonton wrappers (half of a 12-oz package) (found these in the produce section)
- 1.5 Tbs. powdered sugar
1). Preheat oven to 350°. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
2). In a medium bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon; toss to coat apples.
3). Place wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Moisten edges of wrapper with wet fingers. Drop apple mixture by teaspoonfuls onto center of each wrapper. Fold over one corner to make a triangle and press sides together to seal. Transfer to baking sheet.
4). Bake about 15 minutes. Sift powdered sugar on top.
And, if you’re a weight watcher, I can report that these are only 3 points for four wontons. Or, 6 points for four wontons and a half-cup of vanilla ice cream.
